As a blues artist, Boyd considers this true American art form to be his musical roots. “I went into every black club and bar I could as a young guy, stood outside black churches in the south, and ran with every blue-eyed soul singer/musician I could to see how it was really done. I was fortunate, too, in that some of the legends took time to teach me and give me nuggets from their musical genius.”
